The history of Archivo goes back to the mission of its founders -Fernando Romero and Soumaya Slim- to create one of the first comprehensive collections of popular and industrial design in Mexico. Inspired by their deep interest in design as well as a desire to contribute to the vitality of contemporary culture in Mexico, Archivo began by acquiring pieces for its permanent design collection, the backbone of the project.
